Last Tuesday WPCA members and other local sailors were treated to an excellent talk by Andy Price from the Veterans’ Hub in Weymouth. As well as informative and entertaining Andy’s account of his and many other veterans lives after serving in the Forces in war torn countries was moving and sobering and everyone was left in awe of Andy’s achievements in setting up the Hub. Having gone from meeting in one room the Hub is now a thriving organisation open to Veterans and the local community alike.
Next week the talk will be given by Club members, Chris and Tess Reid, who spent several weeks this summer cruising their yacht Monterey to Holland. Their talks are always entertaining and interesting, especially for any sailors thinking of cruising further afield. Open to all local sailors the talk at Castle Cove Sailing Club will start at 8.00 p.m. with the bar open at 7.30 p.m.
