Create a Post

Click 'Create Post' at the top of the page.

Edit a Post

When you are looking at a list of posts, click on the post you want to edit.

When you are looking at a post, then click the three dots at top right of the post. Choose 'Edit Post' from the drop down menu.

To enter text, just click where you want the text to appear. When you highlight text, a popup like this appears so that you can format the text:

Add an Image

Posts really do look better when they contain an image, including this one! When you have nothing of your own, search Google Images . Click on the '+' to the left of the text and click on the camera icon. When you have uploaded an image, or when you click on it, you will see popup menu like this which allows you to change the look of the image. I have found that the 'Replace Image' button doesn't always work. In which case delete the image and add a new one.

Where will your Post be seen on the website?

Some posts have SPECIFIC titles, and these posts have their own menu item.

SPECIFIC posts include:

  • 'Join WPCA'

  • 'Contact'

  • 'Moorings'

  • 'Events'

  • 'Gallery'

To get any other posts seen, you need to assign a specific CATEGORY to the post. These CATEGORIES include:

  • 'Cruiser',

  • 'e-news',

  • 'Articles'

  • 'Documents'

If a post has neither a SPECIFIC titles, nor is in one of the CATEGORIES above, then the post will not be visible to website users. It will be visible only on the 'Blog Editor' page.

Hide a Post

If a Post does not have one of the above categories AND does not have one of the specific names above, then the post will not be visible to members. You will see it when you click 'Edit Blog' from the menu.

'Publish Changes' when you have finished (important)

Click 'Publish Changes' at the bottom.

And make sure you have selected a category so that your post appears on the appropriate page of the website.

Or you can save changes, and come back later to publish the post.

Other elements you can add to a Post

  • a dividing line

  • a file which can then be downloaded

  • a button that links to somewhere else

  • a video

  • a table

  • a collapsible list just like this one

There are other advanced options - Html Code, AdSense, Gif, and Code Snippet - but not really relevant here.

The following document shows the structure of the website and the relevance of Blog Titles and Categories:
